UTICA -from the OD– As Utica police investigated a reported stabbing on The Bogie dance floor early this morning, a second altercation broke out that drew outside police agencies. City police and firefighters first responded at about 1:25 a.m. to the stabbing, and arriving units reported the victim had a wound to the chest and that the incident happened on the dance floor. A Utica Fire Department ambulance transported the victim to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Further information regarding his or her condition was not immediately available. About 15 minutes into investigating the stabbing, another altercation reportedly broke out inside the bar. Additional police assistance, including any available state troopers and Oneida County sheriff’s deputies, were summoned. The fight was quickly brought under control, and any other police units outside of Utica that already were not at the scene were alerted that further assistance wasn’t needed. The 113 N. Genesee St. bar has been the scene of several fights and stabbings, the most recent being Saturday, Nov. 28, when one person was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. Police said the victim was uncooperative in that case.
